Educational Philosophy
Without exception, all persons have within themselves the ability to learn. We all were born with the innate need to ask questions, to be curious. However, not all persons have within themselves the same level of desire to learn. The most effective learning occurs when a learner hungers and thirsts for the answers to his/her most deeply held questions. They are not satisfied until all their questions have been answered. That being said, teachers must strive to expose learners to a variety of appropriate experiences and texts that encourage critical thinking and effective questioning, both of which drive curiosity. Learners also learn at different paces and in different ways, so the teacher must vary his/her teaching strategies and materials. Long gone are the days of the cookie-cutter approach to teaching and learning.
